Fans had feared they had seen the last of Cougar Town after it was dropped by ABC.
And Courteney Cox showed her appreciation to supporters as she recorded scenes for the saved show in Los Angeles on Thursday.
A crowd turned out to cheer on the Friends favourite as the shoot took place in the trendy Venice Beach area.

She has taken it upon herself to direct some of the show's episodes, and was seen locked in conversation with her crew as she went over the day's shooting.

Cox, who plays a divorcee who dates a much younger man, dressed appropriately for her sexy character in a blue cropped leather jacket, a blue and white striped T-shirt, skinny jeans and tall black leather heels.

The show, which takes place in the fictional Florida city of Cougar Town, filmed a couple of scenes on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Courteney's character looked as through she may be traveling, as the actress closely clutched a map of California in her hand during shooting.
A far cry from her glamorous work image, Cox proved that she is most comfortable in a grey sweater and flat-heeled black boots as she took a break from filming to go shopping in West Hollywood.
The former Friends star completed her simple but chic outfit with her raven hair wrapped up in a ponytail and a pair vintage-looking sunglasses.

Courteney's day on set comes months after executives at TBS announced in May they would be picking up her show after it was dropped by ABC.

Both creatures had originally been estimated at a monstrous 50ft long - making them the biggest pliosaurs ever found, according to Professor Hurum when he announced the discovery. The new paper shrinks the beast somewhat. Now the palaeontologists estimate the complete skull of PMO 214.136 to have been between about six and eight feet long - big, yes, but comparable to the size of at least one other known pliosaur. The skull of the other specimen was smaller at between five and six-and-a-half feet long, which is still impressive but within the range of what researchers have previously found. Guessing the size of pliosaurs is notoriously difficult since many species are known only from fragmentary remains, with palaeontologists forced to estimate size based on bones thought to act as a proxy for overall length. On the basis of measurements of the creatures' vertebrae, the Norwegian team's educated guess is that Pliosaurus funkei was between about 33 to 42ft long, putting them squarely in the same size range as the largest specimens previously known to science. Back-pedalling from the hype surrounding to discovery of Predator X, they now describe their specimen as merely 'one of the largest pliosaurs described so far'. With so many gaps in the evidence, the view of Pliosaurus funkei remains incomplete. Nevertheless it seems Svalbard's pliosaur fossils are not nearly so big or spectacular as had been hoped. Indeed, the palaeontologists now 'urge caution in drawing far-reaching conclusions of pliosaur ecology and behaviour' based on their findings.
