Cage has now paid off almost half of an enormous tax bill, dating back to 2002 after giving a lump sum earlier this year.
The actor owed around $13million in federal income-based payments but he recently gave $6,257,005 to the government, according to official documents obtained by TMZ, which show a receipt signed in Oakland, California on February 15.
The amount filed at the local Country Recorder will go towards the tax period ending in 2007 while there is still 2002, 2003 and 2004 to pay for.
