Almost famous enough! Kate Hudson walks into paparazzi throng... but photographers were waiting for Tom Cruise and little Suri

Kate Hudson has a rather large dosage of star quality, doubling her A-list status after embarking on a romance with fellow famester and Muse frontman Matt Bellamy.
However, the blonde actress was demoted to mere mortal level today as she found herself amidst a paparazzi throng - who were somewhat disinterested in the Almost Famous actress sighting.
Instead, the photographers were awaiting the appearance of Tom Cruise and Suri - who just so happened to be staying at the same hotel as Kate and her rocker fiancé.

Having spent much of the last few weeks relaxing on holiday in Greece and the south of France, Kate will be wondering why she returned to the hectic city that is the Big Apple. 

The media congregation was exceptionally dominant this morning, as it was the first sighting of the Cocktail actor and his six-year-old daughter together since Katie Holmes filed for divorce in June.
The 33-year-old stepped out in New York looking very summery in a red dress and nude heels.

She held her head low, drawing attention to her blonde hair which was piled on top of her head in a loose up-do, complementing her pink-rimmed sunglasses and gold jewellery.
Matt looked a little less ready for the NYC heat, sporting black jeans and a grey T-shirt as he exited from a yellow taxi outside the Greenwich Hotel - with baby Bingham nowhere in sight.
Matt's band recently revealed their song Survival has been selected by the London Olympic committee to be the main official song for the 2012 Games.
They wrote on their website: 'Matt [Bellamy] wrote the song with the Olympics in mind. It's about total conviction and pure determination to win.'

Meanwhile, Kate has been confirmed to appear in Glee in the next series of the hit musical show.
'Kate Hudson will play Cassandra July,' executive producer Ian Brennan told Access Hollywood last weekend. 'And she’s going to be able to sing and dance.
'It’s going to be pretty awesome. She’ll be Rachel’s dance teacher at NYATA and it’s gonna be good.'
